After talking to several people about why they voted for Sonny Perdue over Mark Taylor I kept coming across the same response. The response was, "I don't like that Mark Taylor bad mouthed Sonny Perdue in his Television broadcast." I found myself agreeing with them until I went to each man's Web site to explore their programs and policies. What I found on Mark Taylor's Web site was nothing about Sonny Perdue. I found a wide variety of information about his hopes for the future. His program called, "Peachkids,"a program created to provide health insurance for every child regardless of their income. I also found out that Mark has fought to pass laws for harder sentences on rapist, child abuser and drug dealers. These laws against criminals hit home with me. He made one statement that showed me his compassion, the statement was that he, "removed the statue of limitations on rape cases because there is no time limit on a victim's suffering." Anybody who has had to deal with rape should understand the amount of suffering that comes with it. I also like that he was a big supporter for the hope scholarships. I currently don't receive those benefits but God bless the child who has worked so hard to have.

When I then went to Sunny Perdue's site, unbiased yet, I found more information out about Mark Taylor then I did about Sonny Perdue. If Sonny Perdue said he didn't believe in bashing Mark Taylor his site made him out to be a liar. Since November 9th his site has now been changed. It now shows more of what I was looking forward to seeing being that of his policies and procedures rather then a backfire at Mark.

It wasn't even a close race sad to say. While most of the population was leaning towards Sonny Perdue, I was leaning on Mark Taylor. As the saying goes, "If it's not broke don't fix it," is directly why I feel a lot of people voted for Sonny Perdue. They're use to him and don't want to try something new. Let me end by saying this, I like Sonny Perdue. I think both men would have done a wonderful job as governor. I just think Mark Taylor represents my expectations from a Governor more.
http://gov.state.ga.us/
http://www.marktaylor.com/
